Description:
We are looking for a saw operator, with a minimum of three years of cutting experience, who will be responsible for safely and accurately operating saw equipment to cut metal materials used in our manufacturing processes. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure the efficient production of quality materials that meet specific specifications. ERP experience is a plus.
Requirements:
Saw Operator Responsibilities:
•Set up and operate various types of saws (e.g., band saws, circular saws, chop saws) based on production requirements.
•Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine cutting specifications.
•Inspect materials for defects or damage before cutting, ensuring only suitable materials are used.
•Adjust saws to the proper settings for cutting materials to correct dimensions and tolerances.
•Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting basic mechanical issues.
•Measure and verify the dimensions of cut materials using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, tape measures).
•Operate overhead crane at an expert level.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
•Document and track production output, including materials used and quantities cut.
•Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
•Follow all safety and quality standards in the workplace.
•Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
•Use MRP (computer software) to locate drawings, locate work instructions and log labor hours
Saw Operator Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
•Previous experience operating saws in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
•Familiarity with different types of saws and cutting equipment.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
•Basic math skills for measurement and cutting specifications.
•Good communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
•Knowledge of safety standards and the ability to operate saw equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
•Knowledge of miter cuts.
•Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
•Ability to stand for extended periods.
•Regular lifting, carrying, and handling of materials (up to 50 lbs).
•Use of hand tools, measuring equipment, and protective safety gear.
