Work Schedule:
1st Shift: Monday-Thursday: 6:00am - 3:30pm & Friday: 6:00am - 12pm (Hours may vary based on workload)

What you will do:
The K7 Sander Machine Operator is responsible for sanding face frames, solid wood parts, veneer panels using the K7 Sander. They ensure their machine runs smoothly, works at capacity without issue and is appropriately maintained. This position would also provide assembly support to the Face Frame Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Setting up and running the K7 wide belt sander
•Must be able to set up, run and program sander
•Coordinate with various departments for items that need to be reworked, fixed or returned
•Adjust various components on machinery including, Feed Speed, Drum Speed and Belts
•Watch quality of finished product and make any necessary adjustments
•Conduct weekly sand tests and document results
•Read and interpret production paperwork to select and sort parts.
•Manually load and unload parts to and from machine.
•Coordinate and organize and complete daily work following the schedule.
•Perform minor routine machine maintenance.
•Move carts of finished product to next production destination and retrieve empty carts.
•Housekeeping; sweep and pick up debris over, around, and under machine area.
•Assist in other departments or sand by hand if needed.
•Other duties as assigned.
What you need:
•Must be able to read a micrometer for thicknesses and maintain a required thickness
•Ability to distinguish wood species of items being sanded
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Ability to read measurement tools such as a tape measure.
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
•Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions in English.
•Ability to meet quality standards - strong attention to detail and quality.
•Ability to consistently meet/exceed production quotas.
