Drive the Austin Group Risk Management, Quality Assurance and Health, Safety and Environment management systems, including statutory obligations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Identify, initiate, recommend and assist in the issue resolution process. Verify and confirm the effective implementation of said solutions.
Identify, develop, implement and improve health & safety systems and practices which provide the tools required by line management to meet Austin’s statutory and organizational objectives.
Promote a positive Safety culture in the workplace.
Coach and mentor management, employees and contractors in the application of Austin’s OH&S system.
Raise awareness and priority of OH&S goals & objectives, provide advice, guidance and support to groups and individuals.
Stay current on information and local legislation as it pertains to OH&S.
Represent the Company at appropriate conferences & working groups related to safety management.
Assist supervisors to facilitate the provision of prompt, appropriate attention to any injured employee, including medical attention, support, notification, investigations, and corrective action requirements.
Maintain and coordinate & relevant records and registers.
Monitor KPI for OH&S performance for line management. Provide progress & summary reports of progress against goals and KPI’s to relevant parties.
Oversee and improve the safety induction & training programs for new hires, returning employees, and contractors.
Oversee and recommend safety training to ensure safe operation and compliance.
Assist supervisors with the preparation of training material related to OH&S issues that can be presented by supervisors at toolbox meetings.
Review training records to ensure that training is being conducted and documented. Liaise with the relevant supervisors to ensure that training obligations are being fulfilled.
Actively promote and demonstrate a high-level of communication & customer service by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers.
Act as liaison between local operations and the Global Group Safety Director.
Conduct incident investigations and provide follow-up training as necessary.
Conduct monthly Safety Committee meetings (agenda and minutes) and provide reporting to all stakeholders.
Write and submit grant requests for training grants from the State of Wyoming.
