As a Rope Access Trainee, you will embark on a structured training program to develop the technical skills and safety mindset needed for industrial rope access work. Under close supervision, you’ll learn to safely rig, ascend, descend, and maneuver on ropes to perform inspections, maintenance, and installations in high-access environments.
Participate in a formal IRATA- or SPRAT-accredited rope access training program.
Attend classroom and hands-on workshops covering fundamentals: knot tying, rope systems, anchor installation, fall arrest, rescue techniques, and equipment inspection.
Complete all written assessments and practical evaluations to progress through trainee levels.
Assist experienced rope access technicians with setup and breakdown of rope systems.
Help carry, inspect, and maintain personal protective and rope access equipment.
Observe and learn safe work procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
Shadow daily rope access operations such as façade inspection, welding, painting, or structural repairs.
Comply with all company and client safety policies, including wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
Report any hazards, near-misses, or incidents promptly to supervisors.
Maintain training records, certification logs, and equipment inspection tags.
Communicate clearly with rope access teams, riggers, scaffolders, and site supervisors.
Support ground-based tasks, including tool handling, material transfer, and site housekeeping.
Foster a positive, safety-first culture by demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.
