Road Mechanic

Mirra Co, Inc. is looking for a Road Service Mechanic for Heavy Equipment, Commercial motor vehicles. This is a Full Time Position based from our Worcester, MA office with traveling to job sites. Includes a company vehicle, Service Truck.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Road Mechanic prevents and corrects equipment malfunctions at the customer job sites for all types of equipment (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Services and oversees repairs of all types of equipment at the job site

- Conducts preventive maintenance

- Performs safety inspections on equipment

- Maintains a safe shop work environment and company vehicle

- Adheres to all company, governmental and equipment related safety requirements

- Performs other duties assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 4+ years' experience as mechanic with Diesel equipment, hydraulics and welding

- Trade school or Technical training desirable-experience with Cat, Kenworth and other types of heavy equipment

- DOT Physical Examination (Medical card) along with Hydraulics License recommended: CDL License would be a plus

- Ability to diagnose and trouble shoot complex equipment problems

- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

- Must be physically able to work in extreme conditions on job sites

- On-Call and some overtime work

Pay is based on experience and skill level

Education:

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

- heavy equipment mechanic: 3 years (Preferred)

- diesel mechanic: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

- OSHA 10 (Preferred)

- Driver's License (Required)

- DOT Medical Card (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

- Worcester, MA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
