Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled RNG Power Plant Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of gas upgrading plant/power plant and control systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with oil and gas operations, and the ability to operate heavy equipment. This role will be responsible for directing plant operators and will play a crucial role in maintaining safety standards while performing essential tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
•Responsible for the operation and maintenance of gas upgrading plant/power plant and control systems (GCCS) that supports the Bio gas plant. Includes the direction of plant operators and contractors.
•Monitor plant performance and optimize plant processes to maximize gas upgrading/CHP operation and efficiency.
•Oversee plant maintenance and repairs, including scheduling preventive maintenance and coordinating repairs with contractors.
•Prepare regular reports on plant performance, including compliance with regulatory requirements.
•Ensure the plant operates within budget and meets performance targets, including maximizing plant uptime and gas production.
•Identify and implement opportunities to maintain or improve plant efficiency.
•Coordinate with site management to ensure the plant operates in compliance with site regulations and best practices.
•Help to manage inventory and procurement of plant supplies and materials.
•Develop and implement plant policies and procedures in conjunction with the Plant manager, in line with regulatory requirements and best practices.
•Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all plant staff, in Conjunction with the Plant Manager.
•Participate in in-house safety audits.
•Supervises and directs the daily operations of the renewable energy gas plant, including overseeing plant operators and contractors.
•Stay within operating parameters set by BEST Biogas and management notification procedures with respect to any production problems.
•Cooperate with other site stakeholders and corporate leadership in achieving overall site goals in terms of safety, environment & health, facility performance and other corporate goal requirements.
Qualifications
•Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or Trade Designation (Millwright, Electrician, Gas tech, construction, chemical, industrial, gas processing) or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
•PLC or controls experience or designation.
•3 to 5 years of experience in operations and maintenance in an industrial setting.
•A valid Driver’s License with access to own vehicle.
