Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC), a generation and transmission electric cooperative based in Southern Illinois, is looking to hire a Right-of-Way (ROW) Agent. The position is located south of Marion, Illinois, near Lake of Egypt.
- Previous experience with ROW acquisition is preferred.
- Previous experience with transmission line construction and ROW maintenance is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Acquisition of an Illinois Notary Public.
- Willingness to attend continuing education courses, complete certifications, and participate in meetings and training sessions, both online and out-of-town, as needed.
- General computer skills (spreadsheets, email, etc.).
- Some work outside of typical working hours may be required.
- Acquisition of Right-of-Way for line construction and maintenance projects.
- Ensure compliance with landowner agreements including easements conditions, documentation and releases.
- ROW landowner payments scheduling and tracking.
- Preparation of borrower’s environmental reports and archeological studies.
- Communication with property owners associated with SIPC’s transmission system.
- Maintenance of all new and existing easements.
- Acquisition of permits to cross railroads, highways, and navigable waterways.
- Maintaining federal special use permits.
- Assistance in soliciting transmission line and vegetation management contracts.
- Assistance during storm events (obtaining JULIE clearances, material/hardware disbursement, etc.).
- Assistance with management of vegetation management crews.
- Assistance with bi-annual air patrol of transmission system.
