What is a rig hand / floor hand?
This person works on location and is responsible for performing general manual labor on the rig as well as supporting and assisting other members of the drilling crew during all rig operations. This position includes operating and maintaining general equipment and coordinating with the drilling operators.
- General manual labor of rig site.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues as well as any other issues that arise.
- Follow safety policies, processes, and act in a safe manner at all times.
- Assist with the rig up and rig down.
- Service equipment on a normal basis.
- Complete all required paper work daily (safety documents, JSA’s, work orders, service records, and daily reports)
- Keep back yard and equipment clean.
- Travel to rig site locations including yards; availability to work on a schedule basis.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of floorhand experience.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must have a vehicle
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug test
