RETAIL STORE ASSISTANT MANAGER

Job Summary

WALLACE INDUSTRIAL TOOLS & SUPPLIES in Evansville, Indiana is looking to hire a hard-working, customer-oriented retail store assistant manager. The responsibilities include welcoming customers, identifying customer’s needs and recommending suitable products that best satisfy the customer’s needs; assisting manager in directing store personnel to assure effective and efficient operations in accordance with established policy and procedures. Weekends and holidays will be part of the regular work schedule and some travel to additional regional stores may be required from time to time.

Job Responsibilities

- Welcome and assist customers with purchasing the best item provided by the company for their needs;

- Utilize computer technology to process payments by totaling purchases, processing checks, cash and credit cards using our point of sales program;

- Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling and sharing product knowledge;

- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our products to provide advice and recommendations as needed.

- Receiving, processing and organizing shipments and deliveries accordingly

- Restocking shop items and ensuring sales floor is organized according to established guidelines

- Assist in keeping the sales floor and stock room area clean and organized at all times;

- Assisting the manager with the following: Complete the weekly store work schedule; assist in training of staff; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our policies and applicable Federal and state laws; work closely with upper management in managing store personnel

- Assist in conducting physical store inventories

- Alert management of security issues; assists, investigates and informs management of any theft or wrong doing of staff;

- Coordinate and comply with requirements of all top management and staff departments.

Job Requirements

- Proven retail sales experience; supervisory experience

- Ability to use point of sale software and learn new technologies

- Ability to collaborate with others to complete daily tasks and offer support to their team

- Strong organization skills, strong problem resolving skills and detail oriented

- Effective communication skills

- Exceptional customer service skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
