SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the VP of Retail Marketing & Community Relations, the Information Technology Manager (ITM) is responsible for the management of the Retail IT network infrastructure with a focus on strategic planning and integration of emerging technology and software to improve operational efficiency and support IES Retail’s “Customer First” approach to provide a best in class, safe, convenient reliable and quality customer experience. Manage or oversee security of enterprise-level applications, IT Help Desk functions, IT Contractors and Vendors, equipment and facilities, training of employees and enforcement of operating standards and work practices in compliance with all IT regulations and company policies.

Desired competencies include: solution focused mindset with a sense of urgency, proven ability to lead, execute and maintain operational IT efficiencies, strong project management understanding coupled with creativity to innovate and keep abreast of emerging technologies. Must be accurate with an attention to detail and proven record of risk management and in-depth knowledge of IT systems and processes. The ideal candidate must be able to establish priorities under tight deadlines and have a proven track record as a motivated, self-starter who can work on multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment. Incumbent is expected to be proficient in general IT system and network knowledge, cost control, security prevention, process control networks and procurement and purchasing standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Leadership, Project ManagementStrategic Planning: Provide leadership and direction for all Retail IT services and functions including network engineering, data architect, security, business systems and programming/databases

a. Provide leadership and direction to the Retail IT team for corporate network infrastructure (firewall, switches, servers, email, active directory, backup & recovery, etc.)

b. Lead the Retail IT team responsible for implementing and maintaining systems, while supporting the business teams that depend on it. Ensure systems are up, stable, and secure at all times.

c. Direct managers, team leads and other direct reports including making decisions on recruiting and future skill set needs, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions

d. Provides technical leadership to project managers and direct reports.

2. Technical Oversight

Address networking / security / performance considerations

a. Configures and installs third party software

b. Creates and updates documentation for all company applications / systems

c. Completes scheduled tasks for all company applications / systems

d. Ensure compliance with all IT platforms and software programs

e. Ensure IES payment acceptance infrastructure is compliant with PCI DSS standards

Provide quality assurance for system maintenance and resolves technical issues

a. Monitors or changes the daily system operation prompted by user requests

b. Executes detail jobs according to the regular procedure and system maintenance

c. Upgrades applications when new releases are available

d. Verifies, tests, and installs relevant patches released by suppliers

e. Writes and maintains documentation

f. Fields calls from end users experiencing technical issues

g. Responds quickly to provide support service

h. Follows instructions and actively reports all incidents and statuses to immediate supervisor

i. Documents problems and resolutions for reference

j. Handles dynamic problem-solving arrangements whenever application problems or user requests are raised

3. StakeholderCustomer Service Planning and Execution

a. Define complex programs/project deliverables, service level agreements and commits resources to IT Management, executive team, department leads, support staff and end-users

b. Participate in Retail IT department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.

c. Ensure clear and timely communication to stakeholders (internalexternal) of all pertinent events that affect core systems and keep them apprised of project status.

d. Ensure that new system changes are properly tested and communicated.

e. Actively manage vendor relationships to ensure the company is receiving the best possible resources within budget and scope.

f. Collaborate with Downstream IT department to ensure consistency with corporate IT policies and procedures

OTHER DUTIES:

1. Manages People - Evaluates employee performance, counsels employees as necessary and establishes performance improvement planning objectives. Oversees training of assigned personnel, timekeeping and lost time program. Makes self-available to staff; Provides regular performance feedback; Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external); Fosters quality focus in others; Improves processes, products and services.; Continually works to improve supervisory skills. Leads by example. Responsible for annual performance reviews of staff.

2. Teamwork – Works effectively with coworkers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical solutions; and respecting the diversity of all IES workforce in actions, words and deeds.

3. Champions safety, reliability and incident and injury free operations. Maintains commitment to a high standard of safety, complies with all safety laws and IES safety policies/rules, and reports actual and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel to further IES core value of safety. As a supervisor, trains, mentors and coaches employees regarding safe work practices and documentation. Reports any unsafe or hazardous condition and initiates corrective action.

4. Updates and maintains operating standards, emergency procedures, training materials, and any other supervisory tools as assigned.

5. Perform a variety of special assignments as directed.

6. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

2. Five to seven years of progressive technical support and /or product development experience with emphasis in 24/7 operations support.

3. General industry knowledge; Retail, Restaurant, C-Stores are highly desirable.

4. Proficient knowledge of SQL, Server, NET, IIS and Access, SSL.

5. PDI, SAP, Gilbarco Passport, Meraki, MNSP, C-Store HW/SW, are highly desirable.

Skills

1. Ability to uphold to strict ethical standards: integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.

2. Proficient in Operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, and SUSE Linux.

3. Proficient in Cisco and Palo Alto Networking device configuration and management.

4. Proficient in WAN and LAN connectivity and technologies

5. Proficient in server virtualization using VMware

6. Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills, including editing and proofreading.

7. Strong skillset in SQL, NET, IIS, Access, SSL and Oracle database administration.

8. Strong skillset in shared hard disk storage SAN and NAS technologies

9. Strong skillset in Microsoft Office 365 administration.

10. Strong skillset in application and web administration.

11. Strong skillset in Point of Sales systems, understanding of PCI standards, secured network connectivity, and backoffice systems.

12. Strong sense of team spirit and ability to transfer it to others.

13. Ability to work independently.

14. Ability to evaluate information and exercise good judgment in making decisions.

15. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Other Requirements

2. Pass background check including periodic job-related physical abilities testing as required.

3. Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within sixty days of hire.

4. This is a safety sensitive position and random drug testing is required.

5. Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.

6. Willingness to devote the time as needed to meet project and task deadlines.

7. Willingness to maintain or increase skills.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

Island Energy Services offers a competitive salary that commensurate with qualifications and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000. IES also offers a generous benefits package to include comprehensive health and welfare benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401k plus employer matching, supplemental voluntary insurance options, etc.

This position in-frequently works in an outdoor environment under various weather conditions including but not limited to; rain, wind, sunlight, heat, changes in temperature and strong odors.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of times on hard and uneven surfaces.
Ability to operate and use all equipment as necessary. Vision and depth perception are required.
Ability to bend, carry, push, pull, stoop, squat, twist and kneel in sometimes narrow spaces.
Ability to work unaccompanied at a rapid work pace for extended shifts of 12 hours or more, as assigned.
