Residential Solar Site Survey Trainer

We’re looking for a Site Survey Trainer to join our team and ensure our field technicians are well-trained, confident, and prepared to deliver accurate, professional site surveys every time.

Position Overview:

The Site Survey Trainer will be responsible for training new and existing survey technicians on all aspects of solar site surveys, including equipment use, safety protocols, measurement techniques, photo documentation, and customer professionalism. In addition, this role will assist in recruiting and onboarding new survey technicians, ensuring we build strong, reliable teams from the start.

Key Responsibilities:

- Train new site surveyors on equipment (drones, ladders, measuring tools, cameras) and proper survey techniques.

- Conduct in-person and hands-on training sessions in the field.

- Teach proper roof access, photo documentation, and measurement standards (minimum required photos, hand measurements, etc.).

- Support recruiting efforts: sourcing, screening, and recommending qualified candidates for survey positions.

- Assist with onboarding new hires and ensuring they are properly prepared for fieldwork.

- Monitor technician performance and provide ongoing coaching as needed.

- Collaborate with operations and management to update training and recruiting processes.

- Represent the company professionally and instill those values in all surveyors.

Qualifications:

- Prior experience in solar site surveys, solar installation, or related fieldwork.

- Strong knowledge of safety practices, roofing structures, and solar industry standards.

- Experience using drones, measurement tools, and digital reporting software.

- Previous recruiting or team leadership experience is a plus.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and evaluate candidates.

- Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.

- Comfortable traveling as needed to train and support field teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
