As a Solar Designer, you will work with our Solar Guides, Home Evaluators, Technical Evaluators and Project Managers throughout the entire Solar Holler process to ensure a quality solar installation and happy customers. This includes 3D modeling and sunlight simulations, precise utility bill analyses, structured proposals, and project plan sets. Each Designer is responsible for their assigned deals and will be expected to go above and beyond throughout the process, from new leads to completed installation.
Job Functions
•Complete 3D modeling and sunlight simulations using our solar software to determine whether a site is suitable for solar. Document your assessment to support the sales team in clear, correct customer communication.
•Analyze a client’s utility bill history to assess their energy needs and current utility expenses.
•Work closely with the sales team to understand each client’s project goals and design a solar system that is just right for them.
•Build out the client’s solar proposal, including system pricing.
•Attend to your assigned projects throughout the sales process, adjusting project designs based on client feedback in a timely manner.
•Coordinate with our Operations team to finalize detailed plan sets for our installations teams.
•Our Designers serve as an essential bridge between our Operations team and our Sales team. As a Designer, you will need to quickly gain proficiency in a range of solar products and their functionality, to ensure we’re accurately representing the performance of any given solar design to our clients.
•Be ready and flexible to changes. We regularly make adjustments to our consumer financing, our equipment, and our process - to gain efficiency and to better provide affordable solar solutions to our Appalachian neighbors. We move quickly, and hire staff excited to be a part of a quickly evolving team and industry.
•Though we work remotely, we are a dynamic (and rather social) team. In this role, you will need to communicate regularly and actively, participate in team and department meetings, share knowledge and support colleagues.
