Job Title: R&D Project Manager

Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive R&D Project Manager with a strong technical aptitude to join our team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing rapid testing and R&D projects related to new process development, from initial concept through prototyping to data generation. Your projects will occur in a dynamic and fast-changing environment and will involve cross-functional teams, managing project resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring projects flex and adapt to the learnings that they and other R&D efforts generate.
Objectives & Responsibilities
•Collaborate with our Materials, Mechanical and Process teams and other stakeholders to define and revise project scope, objectives, technical specifications, and deliverables for projects
•Create adaptable project plans estimating tasks, timelines, resource allocation, dependencies, and budgets necessary
•Lead and coordinate project activities, track progress against milestones, manage changes to scope / schedule / costs / etc.
•Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly technical challenges inherent in R&D, and manage issues through testing/change implementation/resolution
•Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned R&D projects, providing regular status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders, including senior management
•Ensure project deliverables meet required quality standards and align with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements
•Oversee the creation and maintenance of project documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
•Drive a culture of “fail fast / learn fast”, continuous improvement, accountability, and technical excellence across project teams
Experience & Qualifications
•Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Process or a related field)
•5+ years of working in an industrial R&D / prototyping environment
•Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and delivering fast moving projects
•Solid understanding of R&D processes, product development lifecycle, and innovation methodologies
•Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
•Experience in a startup company or in the conceptual design area of a larger organization
