As a Tier I Technical Specialist in our Remote Operations Center, you will be the first line of support for monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalating operational issues in battery energy storage systems (BESS). You’ll play a critical role in maintaining system reliability, triaging stakeholder inquiries, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfers between shifts and/or internal/external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a structured approach to documentation, and a passion for continuous product improvement.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–2 years in technical operations, NOC/ROC, or SCADA monitoring environment.
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems, industrial controls, or power electronics.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, and remain calm while multitasking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Ability to prioritize and quickly pivot to work on different tasks
- Strong organizational skills to keep track of various tasks, objectives, and timelines
- Having the initiative to flag down process gaps and working on setting up a means to work around or addressing the root causes
- Monitor BESS assets via SCADA, monitoring platforms, and diagnostic tools.
- Identify and assess alarms, alerts, and performance deviations.
- Monitor and operate the system according to the operation procedure, market bidding awards or bilateral agreements with grid utilities to maximize availability/revenue
- Triage operational issues related to system performance, controls, communications, and alarms.
- Perform initial remote troubleshooting steps, resolve issue remotely if possible.
- Document findings and escalate to Tier II/Tier III or field teams when necessary.
- Maintain direct communication with customer service teams, field service engineers, and technical support.
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders during incidents.
- Maintain a detailed, real-time log of incidents, system issues, stakeholder interactions, investigations, and resolution.
- Maintain a daily log of monitoring, operation and maintenance performed, outages, changes in operating status, inspections and any other significant events
- Ensure clear and complete handoff documentation for the next shift to maintain operational continuity.
- Communicate effectively with field teams and customer ROC teams to coordinate troubleshooting and provide status updates.
- Escalate critical issues with clarity and urgency, ensuring all parties are informed.
- May be tasked to coordinate with ISO, local grid utilities, fire alarm companies, and security alarm companies for emergency management
- Contribute daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.
- Overtime and on-call work may be required with prior notice.
- Other duties assigned by the Company or supervisor.
