Regional Mine Planner in Mason, Ohio:
•Omya Inc. is seeking a Regional Mine Planner to develop Life of Mine Plans for all sites using geologic models.
•Assist the Regional and Local Geology and Mining teams in developing optimum mine development and production plans, including determination of best mining methods and developing mine reclamation concepts to minimize costs and sustainably meet feed stone and regulatory requirements for the quarry operations in the United States, Canada, and LATAM regions.
•Develop detailed short-to-medium term as well as life of mine plans (LOMPs) that are designed to ensure safe and efficient operations while maximizing protection of the environment over the long term.
•Together with local and regional staff, develop and update short and long-term mine plans, including quarry production and development scheduling to ensure plant feed stone requirements are always achieved.
•Assist local and regional geologists with geological modelling of ore deposits and conceptual mine designs to provide estimations and characterizations of mineable reserves as part of exploration and due diligence programs.
•Supervise the accuracy and completeness of all production reporting from local Mine and Quarry managers.
•Maintain and update both developed and overall mineable reserve calculations based on geologic model and mine plan.
•Assist with assessment and development of plans to reduce top Safety and Environmental risks for each quarry site.
•Work with the coordination of feed stone selection and blending, to assist in ensuring feed stone quality specifications are met and to maximize stone utilization.
•Provide appropriate mine planning and property information necessary for environmental permit applications as associated with mine operations.
•Ensure that mine designs are compliant with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial, and Local regulations.
•Position requires 20-30% domestic and international travel to North and South American regions (United States, Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil) to maintain development and production plans for local region mines.
Minimum Requirements:
•Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Mining & Metallurgical Engineering, Geology, or related field of study and twelve (12) years of experience as a Mining Consultant, Mining Engineer, or a related occupation. Foreign degree equivalent accepted.
•Position requires fluency in Spanish.
•The position requires eight (8) years of experience in managing mining professionals, and collaborating with technical team members and operations managers at both the Mine and Plant levels to ensure the execution of Mine Plan.
•The position requires ten (10) years of experience with the following: estimating and updating overall mineral reserves, including maintaining reserve reporting to industry standards; Geologic Modeling and Mine Planning methodologies and software (Geovia Surpac, Whittle, and MineSched), including block modeling, database, management, geostatistics, geotechnical, optimization, reconciliation, scheduling, and documentation with presentations; and mineral reserve reporting standards, such as JORC, PERC, or CRIRSCO framework.
•The position requires twelve (12) years of experience applying the following regulations and standards: regional or national specific mining regulations applicable to design, operations, and reclamation.
Salary: $117,000 - $170,000 per year.
