Description
The Regional Environmental Compliance Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing processes and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and/or local environmental and regulatory programs at geothermal power plants. Also, this position provides leadership, acts as a change agent within the company, and provides training to staff at all levels.
Responsibilities
Environmental Leadership•Serve as the point person for environmental compliance with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as other regulatory programs.
•Serve as the lead for environmental incident and accident reporting, investigation and corrective action follow up including near miss, damage and loss control events, as required.
•Implement and manage personnel development programs related to environmental and regulatory programs including management and required job-related environmental skills.
•Advise senior managers, as needed, to communicate environmental and regulatory related information to promote Cyrq’s positive image or to address any issues.
•Provide support and coaching in the completion of risk assessment process to ensure corporate standards are achieved.
Environmental Management
•Ensure a compliant environmental management system is in place and timely submission of environmental data and/or reports to regulators and the public in accordance with laws and regulations.
•Develop and manage programs to ensure regulatory issues applicable to plant locations are identified, evaluated, and implemented.
•Ensure development and distribution of environmental, permitting and regulatory compliance plans in conjunction with all operational departments on an iterative basis.
•Manage emergency preparedness plans, while supporting line managers in the development and training of the plans’ requirements.
Company Support
•Serve as the lead for the Hazardous Materials Business Plan. Coordinate with Health and Safety and other departments as needed.
•Recommend procurement of contractors, equipment and materials utilizing ISNetworld, as needed, or any other applications adopted by Cyrq.
•Complete all required training in a timely manner.
•Adhere to all safety requirements at all locations.
Requirements
•Bachelors Degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related program or equivalent industry experience.
•8 or more years of relevant experience including 4 or more years at a power generating, processing, mining, or refining facility (or similar industry).
•Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) and/or other EHS related certifications.
•Experience in environmental programs, preferably power generation related. Experience with California and Nevada regulatory agencies preferred.
•Experience in power plant construction, O&M, and production issues.
•Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
•Ability to complete domestic travel (flights or driving) to remote locations in the Western United States, up to 20%.
•Ability to plan, direct, review and report on personnel and equipment safety conditions.
•Experience with Root Cause Analysis investigations
•Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) with wide variety of audiences (operators, management, engineering, etc.). Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
•Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office products.
•Ability to sit, stand, walk moderate distances, twist, stoop/bend, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs or ladders.
•Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
•Able to tolerate remote environments, indoor/outdoor work, wildlife, possible dust, dirt, and wind, including any weather typical for all seasons in southern CA, NV, and UT.
•Ability to don all forms of required Personal Protective Equipment.

•On-site position based in Calipatria, California or Reno, Nevada.

Salary Description
$110,000 - $132,000
