Refrigeration Mechanic

Our Baseplant team is looking for an experienced HVAC Mechanic. If you are an experienced Journeyperson in industrial HVAC we may have the perfect role for you!

Minimum Requirements:

- Minimum five experience in commercial HVAC maintenance/service; previous oil sands site experience will be considered an asset

- Experience with commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and hydronic/boiler systems

- Valid Alberta Journeyperson Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate

- Valid Gasfitter Class A Certification

- Refrigerant handling certificate (HRAI)

- Knowledge of building electronic, pneumatic controls and DDC automation systems

- Competence using computer software including but not limited to Outlook, Word and Excel

- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Key Accountabilities:

- Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair commercial/industrial HVAC equipment

- Perform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment

- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults

- Repair or replace defective parts and ensure proper system performance

- Analyze work orders, identify solutions, provide detailed reports and scopes to increase equipment performance and reliability

- Document service and installation actions by completing electronic forms and reports

Location and other Key Details:

- You will work out of our Baseplant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta

- The shift schedule is a 4 days on/5 days off/ 5 days on/4 days off/5 days on/5 days off rotation: 12-hour shifts)

- This position has been identified as security sensitive. Successful candidates must clear a criminal history check

- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined
