Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the refinery and its hourly personnel, the refinery supervisor provides boots on the ground support and coordination for refinery operations. They maintain responsibility for the safe execution of the refinery schedule and environmental compliance and reporting.
- Supervise the safe operation of the refinery and each of the three primary tasks performed there within.
- Monitor IH performance, by tracking Jerome readings, primary exposures, and personnel.
- Ensure permit compliance and recordkeeping for all tasks within the refinery.
- Minimize and manage waste through thoughtful and efficient use of materials and energy.
- Identify and report areas where environmental impacts can be minimized or eliminated.
- Managing to and optimizing the refinery master schedule to ensure on-time production.
- Train and maintain training records for refiners and refinery support.
- Develop and polish SOPs to improve consistency between operators.
- Perform QAQC check in the refinery to ensure that high quality work is being performed in the refinery.
- Manage reagent usage to decrease costs.
- Monitor downtime and reliability of refinery equipment to better improve maintenance scheduling.
- Maintain records of precious metals production in order to track the flow of gold and silver through the process and decrease processing losses.
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment and procedures when problems arise.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in Oracle or similar purchasing, procurement, and maintenance software.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while enforcing safety, environmental, and company procedures and guidelines.
- Foster an accident free and safe working environment. Promote crew safety meetings, area safety inspections, and provide training to process personnel on an ongoing basis. Evaluate Process operators on job performance as required.
- Keeping abreast of new technology and communicating with process operations and maintenance personnel regarding their ideas and thoughts on operating improvements.
- Proven project management skills including demonstrated use of BI methodologies to deliver measurable results
- Proven success in implementing and managing change processes is required.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Identify risks that could prevent successful completion of department goals. Assess the potential impact and take action to mitigate the risk.
- Develop and deliver performance reviews for assigned staff.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
