The Refinery Refrigeration Mechanic will provide technical expertise in the installation, troubleshooting and repair of site specific heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, refrigeration equipment, ice machines, pressurization and exhaust fans as required for the reliable and safe operation within the refinery.
Responsibilities May Include:
Knowing and performing safe work practices including wearing Personal Protective Equipment
Submit Work Authorization Permits for HVAC repairs and installation
Work with other crafts & contractors for repairs and installations
Repair and technical troubleshooting of HVAC, steam, refrigeration, pressurization and exhaust systems
Preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment
Installation of HVAC equipment
Work HVAC call outs per call out rotation
Complying with all company policies, procedures, federal, state and local regulations
Participate in roll out, toolbox and monthly safety meetings
Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear, and eye protection)
Required Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Maintain a valid driver’s license
Maintain a valid State of Oklahoma Mechanical license held
Maintain a valid EPA license
2 or more years of experience with HVAC or mechanical, components, and systems
2 or more years of experience reading/comprehending process and equipment diagrams, vendor manuals, and blueprints
Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:
Work overtime
Work outside in any weather as required
Work at various heights and climb ladders and stairs
Lift up to fifty (50) pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Five or more years of direct experience in commercial and Industrial HVAC system maintenance
Knowledge & experience with automated building operation systems
Knowledge of pneumatic controls
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong customer interaction skills with experience in working with customers
Computer proficient with applications such as Excel, Word, and SAP
Excellent skill in oral/written communications, time management, and organization
The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
