Recycling Associate

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, participates in destroying and degaussing drives and data-containing devices, sorting, testing, inventorying and dismantling equipment and parts as directed with NEI-approved methods and tools.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This position will be regularly assigned to Sorting, Degaussing, Testing, Inventorying, Dismantling, Shredding Hard Drives, SSDs, Laptops, Tablets, IT Hardware and any other data-containing media or equipment that may be deemed necessary. This role requires a robust technical aptitude and proficient knowledge while optimizing time and resources.

Examples of Duties:

1. Inventory, Degauss, Shred hard drives according to company policies & procedures

2. Sort material & drives as directed & under supervision

3. Dismantle specified drives, drive caddies, and SSDs quickly, efficiently, accurately, and safely using hand tools and drills.

4. Accurately and efficiently sort different types of of equipment & materials as directed

5. May operate a variety of light equipment, such as hard drive shredders and pallet jacks

6. Be ever vigilant in the cultivation of a profitable, sustainable company.

Required Skills: Communicate effectively; basic reading, writing & computer skills are required. Have a

working use & knowledge of hand tools. Must have strong attention to detail while working efficiently and accurately. This is a fast-paced position that requires the ability to keep track of multiple tasks and projects accurately and efficiently. Must be a team player, be flexible and willing to learn and adjust as technology and processes evolve.

Ability to read, interpret & follow company procedures & safety rules. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Have good hand & eye coordination; work efficiently & effectively, with a sense of urgency; be able to remember various tasks and information; take direction & communicate effectively; keep work areas clean; must be able to work in a team & independently and be self-motivated. Process production material in alignment with defined procedures at a consistently high-achieving rate. Work includes verifying customer requirements, using hand tools, and software programs to track material. Core processes include complex material like Apple Devices, Miscellaneous Testing, Servers, and Networking.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees in this class perform moderate physical labor involving the

full range of body movements involving reaching, bending, standing for periods, grasping, and lifting. Must be able to identify & distinguish colors, have clear vision, and close vision abilities at 20” or less (using corrective lenses is acceptable). Testing and most work will be in climate-controlled warehouse, but some recycling tasks are performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work involves frequently lifting materials and products of less than 25 pounds.

Personal Protection equipment is required, including eye safety glasses and steel-toe boots. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
