Your Responsibilities

The Recruitment & Onboarding Advisor is primarily responsible for recruitment and onboarding activities, with additional support for employee engagement, offboarding, and People & Communications (P&C) administrative functions. The Recruitment & Onboarding Advisor actively integrates the P&C charter and operating model into their key responsibilities, focusing efforts on continuous improvement, delivering an elevated employee experience, and innovative and engaging programs that align to KSPC’s strategic direction. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Recruitment Program - 50%:

Leads full-cycle recruitment across all levels of the organization including proactively sourcing candidates, advertising, screening resumes, pre-screening, interviews, employment offers, reference checking and onboarding.

Builds networks to source qualified passive candidates and develop innovative sourcing strategies that align with our I+D targets.
Builds pipeline of diverse candidates and maintain regular contact for future positions.
Analyzes recruitment trends and metrics to recommend evidence-based hiring strategies and proactively address gaps.
Collaborates with operations teams through ongoing meetings to report on hiring status and staffing needs.
Enhances the candidate experience and reinforces the EVP throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
Supports the development of partnerships with educational institutions by attending career fairs and participating in recruitment events.
Subject Matter Expert in applicant tracking system.
Builds relationships with hiring leaders and trains hiring leaders on best practice and inclusive practices.


Student Recruitment Program - 20%:

Full ownership of the student recruitment program.
Builds pipeline of diverse candidates and maintains regular contact for future positions.
Completes initial screening and short-listing internal and external candidates.
Ensures elevated employee experience throughout recruitment process.
Supports the development of partnerships with educational institutions by attending career fairs and participating in recruitment events.
Builds relationships with hiring leaders and training hiring leaders on best practice, inclusive practices as it relates to the student program.

Administration & Oversight of the Onboarding Program - 25%:

Coordinates and facilitates the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization.
Leads and facilitates new employee orientation.
Ensures that new employees feel supported, informed, and connected during their initial days, fostering a sense of belonging from the very beginning.
Actively seeks opportunities to improve processes, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to enhance the overall employee experience.
Collaborates with P&C and department leads to ensure all necessary standards, paperwork, training and compliance requirements are met.


General administration and operational support - 5%:

Maintains P&C records, including employee files and HRIS, scanning employee documents into SAP, tracking OPP progression documents.
May assist with employee and community engagement activities.
Actively seeks opportunities to improve processes, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to enhance the overall employee experience.
Promotes and actively supports initiatives aimed at fostering Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) within the organizational framework. Acts as a vocal champion for the values and principles that underlie I&D, working to create a workplace environment that celebrates diversity and fosters inclusivity.

Requirements


Your Profile

Our company values and recognizes the diversity of the workforce and encourages individuals with the equivalent combination of education and work experience. The ideal candidate will have:

Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration specializing in Human Resources.

CPHR designation considered an asset.
3-5 years of progressive general HR experience, with a focus in full-cycle recruitment preferred. Industrial or mining sector experience is considered an asset.
Experience with inclusive hiring practices and candidate sourcing strategies.
Comfort with data interpretation and reporting recruitment KPIs
Experience in promoting the organization at career fairs, on social platforms, and through internal campaigns.
Motivated to build professional experience in business administration and human resources, with a growing understanding of HR principles and strategies.
Demonstrates strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to taking initiative and managing multiple priorities.
Maintains strict confidentiality and ensures compliance with privacy laws and internal policies.

Employment is subject to successfully completing KSPC’s pre-employment checks which may include criminal record check, education verification, functional fitness evaluation and drug and alcohol testing.

This is a term position extending to approximately June 30, 2026.
