Job Title: Receiving and Inventory Supervisor
Location: Columbia SC
Position Summary:
The Receiving and Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all receiving, warehousing, and inventory control activities at the steel plant. This role ensures accurate and timely receipt of materials, proper storage, and inventory accuracy to support production and operational efficiency. The supervisor will lead a team of warehouse personnel and collaborate with procurement, production, and quality departments.
Key Responsibilities:
•Supervise daily receiving operations, ensuring materials are received, inspected, and recorded accurately.
•Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
•Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
•Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
•Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
•Monitor and enforce safety protocols and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
•Train, coach, and evaluate warehouse staff; manage scheduling and performance.
•Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
•Maintain documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse supervision, preferably in a manufacturing or steel plant environment.
•Strong knowledge of inventory management systems.
•Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
•Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Working Conditions:
•Work is performed in a warehouse and plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
