The Real Time Engineer plays a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of the organization’s power generation operations; monitors and analyzes real-time data from various sources; collaborates with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering personnel, and ensures optimal performance and accurate, data-driven decision making within the organization’s tactical operations.
- Monitoring and intervention on power generation equipment performance in real-time to support field operations.
- Utilize data acquisition platforms to analyze equipment health and detect anomalies to improve availability and reliability.
- Develop and document Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
- Track and trend key equipment parameters to identify performance deviations and improve long-term reliability.
- Provide real-time troubleshooting support to field personnel to maintain equipment availability.
- Actively participate in incident response activities, including coordinating with field teams, troubleshooting operational issues, and executing corrective measures to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
- Bridge communication between field operations and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Maintain access to accurate records of operational activities, equipment performance, and incidents. Prepare timely reports and summaries for management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to technical reports, reliability dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive improvements in monitoring processes, data analysis, and operational support methods.
- Provide real time engineering and troubleshooting of equipment operating in-field with Field Engineering Team.
- Track and report on equipment and site trends to improve reliability and performance.
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or related field) preferred.
- 3-years experience in field operations, preferably in the Power Generation field.
- Detail oriented, process driven and methodical.
- Familiar with Cat G3520 Recip Generator Packages.
- Familiar with Solar SMT Turbine Generator Packages.
- Familiar with electrical, controls and gas interfaces.
- Familiar with power distribution equipment and power transformation.
- Familiar with and/or supported AC systems up to 15kV and DC systems up to 120V.
- Capable of performing root cause analysis and providing corrective actions.
- Experience with visualization platforms such as PowerBI, Grafana and Sophia platforms.
- Experience with multi-gen controller visualization platforms.
- Experience working in a startup environment a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Possess extreme sense of ownership and highly collaborative.
- Responsive, action oriented and agile in decision making.
