R&D Simulation Engineer

How You’ll Make An Impact

- Reverse engineer and enhance mathematical models for power market simulations

- Design and implement new features across a diverse tech stack

- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code to solve real-world challenges

- Develop and execute unit tests to ensure software quality

- Collaborate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing

- Support technical research and customer-focused problem solving

- Participate in Agile development cycles and continuous improvement

- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Your Background

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field

- 3–5 years of industry experience coding in C# (preferred) or C, C++, Python, MATLAB

- Strong analytical skills and ability to reverse engineer complex logic

- Familiarity with mathematical modeling, optimization, and solvers like Gurobi or CPLEX

- Experience working in Agile development environments is a plus

- Exposure to power systems or energy market software is a bonus

- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
