Quality Lab Supervisor

Description

Position Summary

Responsibilities include direct supervision of technicians working in the lab, lead any R&D testing work, technician training and evaluation, equipment maintenance and calibration, and any other documentation related to the accreditation. Manages schedule of all work performed and prepares reports for manager/engineer review. Also provides technical support to field QC/operations/sales staff and customers to resolve material, testing or plant issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervises the daily activities a laboratory testing team

- Assigns work, checks for quality, and provides guidance to ensure ongoing team member development and improvement

- May occasionally perform lab testing work to ensure the team’s expected output levels are achieved on a daily or weekly basis

- Explains Martin Marietta practices and procedures to team members to ensure they understand and can perform their work accurately

- May develop new laboratory tests and techniques

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or and 4+ related years of experience
