Nhwelmen Construction is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Coordinator to join our team for a large-scale earthworks project. This role is essential for ensuring all site work – including excavation, grading and compaction – meets engineering specifications and industry standards. The QC Coordinator will be the key person on the ground, verifying that the foundation of our project is built correctly and safely.

- Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive quality control plan specific to earthworks.
- Conduct on-site inspections of all phases, from initial clearing to final grading.
- Oversee and verify soil testing, compaction tests (e.g., proctor and nuclear density), and material quality.
- Manage and maintain all project documentation, including daily reports, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and engineers to address any quality issues immediately.
- Ensure all work complies with engineering drawings, local regulations, and safety protocols.
- Train and guide field crews on proper quality control procedures and standards.
- Proven experience as a Quality Control Coordinator, Inspector, or a similar role on an earthworks or civil construction project.
- Strong understanding of earthmoving equipment, soil mechanics, and compaction methods.
- Familiarity with relevant testing procedures and equipment (e.g., nuclear densometer).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions on-site.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of team members, from labourers to engineers.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.
- Certification such as NICET, ICC, or ACI are an asset.
Location: This position will be based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia. This is not a camp position.
