Purpose: To give leadership to the quality department and to ensure quality
standards are upheld, in order to meet customer requirements and company quality
standards.
Reports to: Company CEO
Responsibilities but not limited to:
Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues
Monitor all operations that affect quality
Supervise and guide inspectors, technicians and other staff
Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final
output
Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied
Report all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate action
Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
Review current AS9100 standards and policies
Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site
Policy and Standards
Uphold standards set in Quality Manual to ensure adherence to AS9100
Write quality policy and procedure
Responsible for Approved Vendors List
Create inspection processes
Inspection
Inspect parts as required
Complete AS9102 (First Article Report)
Perform in process and final inspection
Manage QC personnel
Prioritize work in QC
Investigate scrap and create corrective actions based on investigation
Management
Evaluate company performance related to quality
Promote improvement in quality throughout the company
Monitor customer satisfaction as related to quality
Participate in periodic management reviews of quality system
Minimum Education Required:
High School Diploma, GED or 3 years shop experience
Basic Skills Required:
Read and write English
Read drawings, travelers to determine customer specification
Proficiency in shop math
Proficiency in use of measuring instruments
Strong communication and leadership skills
