Description
The Pursuit Strategy Manager is responsible for managing a disciplined approach to our business development lifecycle for the assigned business unit and/or region. This position will manage and lead the strategic direction of all pursuit and proposal development efforts in collaboration with business development and project management leadership.
Job Duties
•Manages business development in early stages of sales funnel activities to include: conduct market research; analyze clients and competitors; develop value propositions and pre-RFP collateral; review and provide suggestions for strengthening capture plans; assist with positioning for new pursuits; and lead internal business development meetings.
•Manage all elements of inside sales activities to include: initiate and lead go/no-go analysis; facilitate strategy sessions; lead review meetings and presentation strategy.
•Manage sales-related activities (interview, debrief) and monitor project team through additional activities to include: coach the pursuit team through shortlist and interview preparations; participate in debrief and document lessons learned; lead capture of metrics, success stories, and proofs.
•Support the overall quality of pursuit procedures, people, and product to optimize process efficiencies.
•Support opportunity tracking in CRM to include win/loss reports.
•Function as CRM super-user for global practice and/or regional office.
•Analyze current business development efforts for the region and make suggestions to leadership for improvement.
•Support the development of departmental objectives and requirements, organize projects and develop standards and guidelines.
•Attend project meetings when requested by division.
•Support the development of department tools and work flows to increase efficiency of designs, specification development, and project execution.
•All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field.
•Minimum 12 years in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm. Experience at an A/E firm preferred. APMP certification, or equivalent, strongly preferred.
•Previous management experience is preferable.
•Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
•Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
•Candidates must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
•Extensive knowledge of the request for Information and Request for Proposal process in the A/E/C industry both from a private and public sector perspective, including previous experience developing and coordinating responses to RFPs.
•Extensive knowledge of and previous experience preparing and coordination preparation of qualification submittals and proposal development in terms of deliverables, schedules, and the coordination of information resources to meet schedules.
•Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Previous experience developing and delivering training presentations related to proposal communications, proposal strategies, business development and/or pursuit strategies.
Compensation $105,000.00-250,000.00 YearlyThe expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
