Protection & Control Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

Phasor Engineering is a dynamic North America based company specializing in engineering, design, panel fabrication, and testing/commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Protection & Control Engineer-in-Training (EIT)to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will be based out of our Burnaby BC, office.

Responsibilities:

Project Estimation:

- Assist senior engineers in the development of protection and control designs from conceptual through implementation stages.

- Prepare and review single-line diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials.

- Perform engineering calculations related to protection coordination and system studies.

- Program Protection & Control devices

- Participate in site visits and commissioning activities to learn practical application of designs.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects

Requirements:

·         Holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

- Registered or is eligible for registration as an EIT with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).

- Relevant experience through co-op, academic projects, or professional work in substation utility design, protection and control design, or related power systems is an asset.

- Familiarity with protection principles, relay coordination, and related engineering software is an asset.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Experience using AutoCAD software is an asset

- Motivated, organized, with a collaborative and adaptable approach to work.

- Basic knowledge of the office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
