Position: Protection and Controls – Commissioning Lead
This position will require performing work within brownfield substation control houses, completing retrofits and capital work projects for medium and high voltage protection equipment, apparatus testing, assisting with constructing testing, and standard work instruction documentation. Work on some of the world’s largest renewable energy plants performing asset commissioning, repair, and service on power systems projects.

Preferred Background:
5+ years of commissioning and Protection & Controls experience in medium and high voltage substations. Familiarity with Doble RTS/Protection Suite or similar substation testing equipment and software such as Omicron. Excellent management and communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to schedule and forecast work to avoid delays.
Job Responsibilities:
•Act as the technical expert for equipment within the substation
•Act as the technical advisor for all equipment within the BESS/Solar plant
•Act as the commissioning lead for substation capital work.
•Perform relay and apparatus testing in accordance with NETA standards
•Perform isolation plans to ensure safe work conditions
•Utilize human performance tools to ensure in service equipment is not affected
•Perform SCADA checkouts of new equipment
•Troubleshoot communication issues of BESS/Solar equipment
•Help build/train a team of substation electricians for Brownfield support
•Communicate daily with offsite and onsite personnel from multiple to entities to ensure roadblocks are eliminated
•Performs daily detailed review of the work to be performed
•Conduct and lead safety discussions
•Supervise and ensure all testing, work, and commissioning activities adhere to the applicable work and safety standards
•Perform hands-on work when required
•Adhere to the Quality program and complete all required documentation
•Communicate with multiple vendors

Physical Requirements / Working Environment
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently on a daily basis.
•Standing on feet for extended periods of time.
•Bending, stooping, and twisting frequently to perform required work
•Able to pass an MVR Check, Background Check, Physical, and Drug Test
