The service technician role is critical to the success of the operation, as proper installation of new customer accounts and thorough new customer orientation serve to ensure our customer’s expectations are consistently met and/or exceeded. The service technician works closely with Account Managers, location management, and office employees to meet the needs of new and existing customers.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains propane equipment for retail customers
- Repairs/Maintains company bulk storage locations, ensuring equipment is in good working order and that the location meets all safety standards/codes/regulations established by NFPA 58 and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Responsible for providing emergency response to propane-related issues beyond the technical capacity of the delivery drivers
- Installs vapor and liquid systems for residential, industrial/commercial, and agricultural systems, maintaining compliance with the standards of NFPA 54/58
- Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations.
- During daily interaction with customers provides exceptional customer service by supplying service/safety information and answering inquires
- May work on propane appliances when needed and assist with deliveries, based on customer demands
- Other tasks may be assigned at manager discretion, which cannot be completely disclosed in a job description. Employees are expected to perform these tasks as part of their normal job duties, providing any required training/certification is obtained, as necessary
- Must attend Texas RRC training and pass Service & Installation Certification Exam.
- Minimum Class “B” CDL with “X” Endorsement for all new hires. Existing employees in the Service Technician role must have at a minimum a Class “C” license with Hazardous Materials endorsement.
