Propane Gas Service Technician

Durkin & Heritage Propane is a family-owned business that services the consumer and wholesale sectors of the propane, fuel oil, pool & emergency drinking water market. As our propane & oil divisions continues to grow, we are actively searching for a dedicated professional to join our team and grow with us. We are looking for a positive, self-motivated, experienced propane service technician / tank installer. Located in Brewster, New York, Durkin’s covers ground in two states and five counties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Installation of various sized above / underground propane tanks, gas lines at commercial and residential locations while meeting all local and state code requirements

- Perform gas safety checks on propane tanks and appliances to ensure company and government safety regulations are met

- Have a basic understanding of electricity and the mechanical ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair propane appliances

- Held accountable to maintain a clean and tidy service truck, while reporting any equipment problems or issues to appointed personnel

- Maintain a fully stocked service truck with required parts and tools to and accommodate all job needs

Requirements:

- Problem solve, work on your-own and be able to work well with others without supervision

- Possess excellent communication skills to convey important information to customers & management

- Maintain a professional image while delivering outstanding customer service

- Willingness to work inside/outside in all weather conditions

- Work a flexible one-week on-call rotation schedule, once a month for after-hour emergency calls

- Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat – Durkin Propane will help attain

Minimum Education:

- High School diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience

- 3+ years in the propane/plumbing or HVAC industry experience

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
