The Project Planner
is responsible for planning and scheduling EC-Drill® projects across our global operations. This role includes a crucial focus on global asset management, ensuring optimal allocation, maintenance, and availability of critical EC-Drill® assets.
· Coordinate the overall planning and schedule activities on projects by interfacing with different disciplines, project management and vendors, through all phases (initiation to close-out).
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, logistics, and field operations.
· Track project milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation, identifying risks and deviations.
· Assist in leading interactive planning sessions with the Senior Project Manager and key vendors.
· Assist in preparing project reports, updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
· Support the Senior Project Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
· Ensures that assignment and scheduling of work follows company policy.
· Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.
· Ensures all work orders and projects are properly documented and closed in respective systems.
· Determines the level of schedule compliance and identifies reasons for completion shortfalls
· Coordinate the movement, maintenance, and tracking of EC-Drill® equipment and assets globally.
· Maintain a centralized asset database and ensure accurate reporting on asset locations, conditions and availability.
· Work with logistics and supply chain teams to align asset mobilization with project timelines.
· Identify opportunities for asset utilization improvement and cost optimization.
· Support compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in asset handling and deployment.
· Ensure maintenance is completed on idle, stacked, or long-term storage assets in accordance with the maintenance system.
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
· 3–5 years of experience in project planning, preferably in the oil & gas or MPD industry
· Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
· Strong understanding of drilling operations and logistics a plus
· Experience in asset management or inventory systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Maximo, etc.) is a plus
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances
· Commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality stewardship
· Ability to handle stressful situations under pressure to achieve desirable outcome for company and customer
Ability to work under pressure and manage diverse global teams across time zones
· Within local Houston area between offices as necessary (workshop/warehouse and office)
· International travel to Head Office (Norway) and customer locations for meetings, training, competency initiatives, management reviews, rig installation and operations handover.
