Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Director, the Project Management System Specialist will be responsible for supporting Materion’s new and ongoing project management and data management efforts. The role will be the central point for managing and sustaining project management tools, databases, and processes to ensure efficient and effective project deliver. The role will collaborate with Project Managers, IT, Finance, and business leaders to ensure accurate project tracking, use of processes-tools, and information flow. Additionally, this role is an integral part of the new process rollouts for Project Management and CAPEX/RFI systems.
- Lead and serve as the center of excellence for project and program management data flow and documentation management – including RFIs, CAPEX, SharePoint, Project Management, etc.
- Provide administrative guidance as part of the roll out of the new process/system (RFI/PPM software tool): Project Management (One Materion PPM) and RFI.
- Manage and sustain Materion’s Project Management processes, including documentation and data flow. Document and communicate project management work instructions.
- Administrate existing Excel-based tracking documents on projects and budgets. Establish standard templates for project financial performance tracking and assessment.
- Lead and become the “go to” resource for the management and communication of all related activities for project management and its processes.
- Required: Associate's degree in business, finance, engineering, or related field
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (IT related courses helpful)
- Prior professional work experience – including internships – in an office environment
- Experience with Microsoft Excel (including macros, pivot tables and advanced formulas) and SharePoint
- Experience with Project Management software, Presentations (PPT) and Scheduling (MS Project)
- Experience working independently and/or working with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Coordinators, or similar providing experience with project activities.
- Minimum 4-5 years professional work experience
- Experience working with and presenting to leadership and championing forward new technology or similar initiative within an organization.
- Experience with global manufacturing company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts
- Demonstrated ability to successfully execute in a rapidly scaling business
- Ability to clearly communicate to senior management and employees
- Ability to identify problems and problem solve via engaging appropriate resources internally and externally.
- Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams)
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment, coordinating stakeholders to deliver
- Self-starter, highly organized and efficient
- Familiar with project management principles and processes
- Desire to grow with Materion
- Curious nature, with ability to expand into different opportunities and secure new ideas as part of role
