Lythix, LLC is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to perform electrical engineering and design studies, develop electric infrastructure solutions for Lythix clients, and manage the implementation of projects. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and design of electrical distribution systems, transmission facilities including interconnection with onsite power generation systems, acting as the client’s engineer for complex projects, managing the implementation of new construction projects, and resolving complex technical issues with all of the above.
- Work with project teams (internal, external, client, subcontractor) to create conceptual design documents, drawings, and scope of work parameters for project solutions;
- Perform engineering studies including load flow, arc flash, surge suppression, relay coordination, ground grid design, transformer sizing, conductor and cable sizing, etc.;
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets to ensure projects remain on schedule, within scope and under budget;
- Create and publish project meeting minutes and project update reports for both internal and client review;
- Manage various engineering contractors and work with those contractors to ensure consistency and quality of design, delivery milestone dates and costs;
- Review, evaluate, and approve engineering contractor design cost estimates on direct award and/or competitive bidding;
- Review and approve Job Orders, Change Orders, and subcontractor and equipment vendor invoices;
- Ensure engineering standards for projects are designed to NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards (and other standards as required) and that construction conforms to the standards;
- Perform site inspections to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with engineering specifications, and possess the ability to make field engineering changes to resolve unforeseen circumstances;
- Create and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by example and influencing others to follow safety protocols and safe work practices;
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Must have distribution engineering design, protection and control implementation, and arc flash studies.
- Must have experience with ETAP or Milsoft software solutions.
- Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, and be customer focused to appropriately identify and respond to clients’ technical and business needs.
- Must be a problem solver, with creative and innovative thinking.
- Must have experience interfacing with electric utility companies.
- Knowledge and understanding of transmission and distribution engineering, including routing issues, conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material specifications, etc.· P.E License in Texas and New Mexico.
· Experience providing services to oil and gas clients.
