The Project Engineer will participate in and manage engineering and technical issues for projects.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversees various aspects of the design, installation, and commissioning of assigned project. Tracks progress, communicates deadlines, and alerts key stakeholders of potential delays to technical progress.
- Identifies key project requirements and assesses suitability of various design options provided by both internal and external stakeholders to meet these requirements.
- Advises project managers in the planning of various technical project activities including scheduling and identification of needed resources.
- Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
- Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
- Supervises progress of project design, installation, and commissioning.
- Collaborates with customer, vendor, EPC, and subcontractor technical teams to devise solutions to technical problems that arise over the course of the project.
- Participates in project team and departmental meetings to keep project manager and organizational leadership briefed on technical status.
- Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
- Collaborates with the broader operations department (project execution, service, controls software development, diagnostics and operations, etc.) to identify and troubleshoot problems.
- Collaborates with project engineers working on other projects to share problems and solutions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in related engineering discipline required.
- At least five years of experience in engineering, systems design, or other related field, with at least two years in a position having technical leadership responsibilities.
- Extra consideration will be given to candidates possessing experience commissioning and troubleshooting electrical equipment and controls, those having practical experience evaluating equipment and installations for compliance with NFPA70 and other codes and standards, and those with other related (or similar) experience.
