Reporting to the Projects Engineer Superintendent, you will be part of the Projects Department. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.
- Leads the development of Project master engineering and construction schedules detailing the sequence of all work to be performed to ensure schedule is realistic and competitive
- Updates master schedule detailing the sequence of all work to be performed to ensure schedule is realistic and competitive
- Communicates updated schedule to key stakeholders
- Updates detailed schedules in conjunctions with construction work and supply packages
- Identifies areas within scheduling that can be improved or implemented
- Update contract progress curves and performance
- Participates in construction, Vendor and engineering design update meetings
- Track status of critical path tasks/activities and delays that impact a project
- Analyze critical path and constraints to determine the effect of changes to schedule
- Suggest alternatives to regain slippage to the schedules
- Contributes to evaluation of tenders with focus on presented schedules for the RFP package
- Work with engineering firms, contractors and vendors on progress tracking
- Reviews contractors schedule status and provides assistance and feedback on their performance
- Coordinate schedule and progress meeting with site supervisors and update the construction schedule accordingly; visits construction sites to ascertain work progress on a regular basis
- Review, analyze and update the contractors’ manpower curves and ensures it suits project schedule needs
- Generate daily/weekly/monthly performance measurement reports complete with analysis to monitor performance and take proactive measure to address and mitigate risk in achieving the plan
- Assist project teams to pursue strategies related to project schedules
- Proactively identify problems or conflicts in the schedule and assist Project Team in affectively managing a resolution
- College diploma or university degree in engineering, project management.
- P. Eng or EIT designation is an asset.
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project engineering and construction
- Have a minimum of 3-years’ experience in engineering and construction planning.
- Primavera and MS project is a must
- Engineering and construction experience
- Self-directed individual with the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast paced environment.
- Familiarity with construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms.
- Knowledge & experience with interpretation of engineering drawings is an asset.
- Experience with CAD software is an asset
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Schedule: 4/3 (site), 5/2 (remote) but flexible for full time 4/3 (site) when required at our Detour Lake Mine.
