Job Summary
Xcel Energy is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Energy Supply group as part of the Projects umbrella. This position will be instrumental in supporting project engineers and leads with various SAP-related activities, project reporting, and administrative project controls. The Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, supply chain, and capital asset accounting, while managing essential project processes. This position is accessible to candidates in Minneapolis, MN, Denver, CO, or Amarillo, TX. Responsibilities- Create and manage SAP work orders, purchase requisitions (both work order and non-work order), and WBS element requests via MDO.
- Monitor and manage project metric reports, including Inactive Report and Missing Completes Report.
- Partner with project leads to resolve inactive/missing complete issues, submit extensions, and facilitate closeouts.
- Collaborate daily with project engineers, project leads, finance, accounting, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate and timely project support.
- Conduct critical analysis and root cause problem-solving on one-off project situations.
- Provide hands-on SAP support and troubleshooting for engineers and project teams.
- Support cross-regional team collaboration (CO, TX, MN) and assist teammates as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel – pivot tables, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong professionalism with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a project support, project controls, or administrative role (workforce experience acceptable if no degree).
- Preferred experience includes SAP and MDO knowledge.
- Familiarity with PowerPlan is a plus.
- Exposure to finance, accounting, or supply chain workflows is advantageous.
