JOB SUMMARY

The Project Controls Specialist will have diverse responsibilities, including project planning and scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, and documentation. This role will contribute to a project team supporting projects from early-stage engineering through construction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Support project management in Requests for Proposal preparation and bid evaluations.

- Assist Material Coordinators with material procurement for projects.

- Create and route project requisitions.

- Create purchase orders (POs) and manage contractor communication via the FS2 Portal.

- Assist and audit Site View entries.

- Review and validate vendor invoices.

- Ensure project invoices are accurately prepared and submitted timely.

- Develops and maintains regular cost reports.

- Monitor expected and actual delivery dates of materials.

- Collect, analyze, and report committed and actual costs for the project.

- Update monthly project forecast in the cost controls system.

- Perform cost variance analysis.

- Monitor project budgets and contract commitments.

- Participate in creating and implementing cost controls systems and processes.

- Generate ad-hoc reporting upon request.

- Make occasional field trips.

- Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.

- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

- Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- Associates degree or higher in related field

- Competent in SharePoint, Projects for the Web, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite applications

- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project controls and material procurement

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

- Has the capacity to work effectively within a team-oriented environment

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
