Summary of Position:

This position will report to the Production Manager. Responsibilities include the shared oversight of production functions, coordination with Maintenance and Plant departments, and implementation of the engineering plan.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Duties include planning, monitoring and tracking of various production projects.These projects may include short-term projects as well as continuous on going daily production functions.
Strong focus on continued efficiency gains in overburden truck/shovel and dragline performance.
Personally demonstrates desired values, behaviors and work practices.
Ensures work areas and employee activities comply with all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
Assist in the implementation of engineering plans by working closely with all departments to ensure goals are prioritized and completed in a timely fashion.
Fosters and maintains an open dialogue and two-way communication throughout the organization.
Work with other departments to understand short, intermediate and longer termed goals and help develop strategies to achieve these goals.
Clearly communicates performance standards and expectations.
Holds team members accountable for results and works effectively with other departments.
Identify and support the Business Improvement Process projects.
Provide monitoring data feedback to operators from various sources.
Oversee both internal and external contracts supporting production.
General understanding of Mine planning and Mine planning design software.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Relevant Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 6-8 years’ experience or any combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge to successfully perform the job.
Skills:
Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness with little or no supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Effective interpersonal skills.
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously to successful conclusions.
Must be able to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible.
Ability to interface and communicate with all departments at all levels.
Leadership/Management:
Must be assertive, take initiative and be able to analyze and promote more effective alternative strategies.
Set and lead teams.
Demonstrates competence in key areas of management and leadership expertise including: relationship management, staff direction and motivation, quality management and the achievement of targets.
Efficiently organizes schedules to accomplish tasks, projects, and goals
Must be influential, take initiative and be able to propose alternate strategies to meet company demands.
Ability to build relationships and work well across functions.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to continuously sit with frequent forward bending and rotation. The employee must frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 15 pounds; rarely to horizontally lift up to 34 pounds; and rarely lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds or swing up to 12 pounds. The employee is required to rarely push or pull up to 100 pounds of force. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally use a right hand grip up to 30 pounds of force; and rarely use hand at an elevated level. The employee is required continuously stand with forward bending and frequently rotating; kneel; and frequently to walk; climb stairs; crouch; squat repetitively; and occasionally crawl. Rarely the employee is required to squat repetitively or reach up to 74”. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment: Works in office environment and site environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Working outdoors in all weather conditions; working in plant environment; working in shop environment; and working in the cab of equipment or vehicle.
