Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)
•Inspects safety and operating integrity of equipment in assigned area and reports all problems to Shift Supervisor.
•Performs quality packaging of the dry products to include: proper weights, proper folds, sealing of the bags, and placement within the specifications of a pallet. Also the finish production of the pallet and transference to the staging area.
•Must be certified (OSHA & Ogden Site) to operate a forklift to handle materials up to and including loading trucks and railcars.
•Receives information from colleagues as it pertains to packaging and production. Communication with the off shift is mandatory so that the operator is made aware of previous shift results. Visually ensures that machinery used in this area is functioning normally and within established safety and operating guidelines.
•The employee will need to be proficient at troubleshooting issues with all the equipment in this area, and be expected to meet daily production goals, while maintaining Quality standards of products.
•Proper monitoring and documentation to meet all Quality checks performed in the area
•Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
•Ability to lift a minimum of fifty pounds
•Accurate and timely data collection
•Keep packaging area within sanitation specifications
•Participate in continuous improvement efforts
•Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good diagnostic skills
•High level of awareness. Must have ability to operate two lines/handle multiple priorities simultaneously

Education:
•High School Diploma or GED
Physical Functions:
•Standing - 6 1/2 hours in 8 hour day. 4 hours overtime, possibly 3 days in a row. 10 1/2 hours standing maximum.
•Sitting - Driving forktruck minimal amount of time
•Lifting - Up to 50# required; 40#/50# bag handstacking - occasionally
•Lift/pull - operate hand-jack to lift pallets of bags
•Push/Pull - push totes on wheels with product, cardboard, or trash. Mop & Broom for cleanup
•+ Up & down steps and stairways - multiples times per shift
+ Up & down on forklift as required
•Balancing - climbing steps / ladder. Getting in and out of machine
•Walking - to work area, in and around machines, to break room
•Stooping - to pick up cases, handstacking, cleaning with air hose around and under machines
•Kneeling - to clean. Very seldom
•Squatting - occasionally picking up bags, boxes, cases, etc.
•Reaching - overhead to fill magazine and coupons, bundles off pallets, remove jams in machine
•Handling - use putty and utility knife - 50-100 times per day. Fan through bags, using spray bottle. Turning machines off and on, paperwork, computer input
•Twisting - head and neck rotation while driving forklift. Filling bag magazines.
•Talking - communicate with co-workers and off shifts
•Hearing - Machines running, operate forktrucks, co-workers, alarms
•Noise - hearing protection required in all production areas
•Sight - Operate machinery, complete paperwork, monitor product
•Hazards - automatic equipment, pressurized air hoses, using utility knife.
•Individual will need to know what parts are stocked in the warehouse for the equipment in his area, and know how to generate work orders for replacement parts
•Maintain safe housekeeping requirements in areas of responsibilities.

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalency is required. The individual must have working knowledge of packaging equipment, processing equipment, and forklift operations. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must pay attention to detail and perform tasks with a high level of quality.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be PC literate and proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, E1, and Access.
