This position is accountable for directing the activities, performance and results of the shop floor, and ensuring all work is scheduled and performed in a safe, clean and efficient manner maintaining company productivity and quality standards.
- Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of the shop floor to ensure production goals are met
- Ensures efficient management of employees, equipment and product resources
- Develops manpower requirements and sets priorities for production schedules based on customer demand, equipment efficiency and materials supply.
- Oversee the accomplishment of assigned work through subordinate lead personnel.
- Participates in production decisions concerning new product lines. Use product specifications and release dates to assist in determining product costs and resource needs.
- Responsible for maintaining production-related communication flow through the shop and between all resources.
- Monitors production processes and adjusts schedules as needed
- Works with management to implement and drive company improvement activities and goals
- Supervises and motivates subordinate workforce
- Provides leadership to shop to ensure a team environment
- Reviews performance of subordinates and recommends promotions and increases
- Ensures effective training for new employees and continuous instruction for improvement and development to all employees
- Enforces the companies and departments work rules and regulations, creates disciplinary actions as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques and related equipment
- Excellent knowledge of product construction and application
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
- Must be a dependable team player that is flexible, adaptable and action oriented
- Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as a passion for accuracy and efficiency
- Exposure to certain contaminants, at times.
- Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.
- Duties performed in office, and production shop, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
- You must wear required personal protective equipment when in designated areas.
- Standard office and warehouse equipment
- Occasional use of various hand tools and power tools.
- Stand, bend, sit, stoop, crawl, squat, kneel, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and walk for 8-10 hours per day.
- Be able to withstand exposure to Production Environment.
