The Production Engineer II is responsible for managing and optimizing both operated and non-operated gas wells. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to enhance production efficiency, reduce operational risks, and maximize resource recovery.
This role works to achieve operational targets under general supervision. Requires the ability to influence others by explaining facts, policies and practices. Problems faced may be difficult but generally not complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.
- Typical job responsibilities of the Production Engineer II include:
Conduct well surveillance including identifying and eliminating sources of downtime.
- Optimize artificial lift including plunger lift and rod pump wells.
- Identify, plan, prioritize, execute, and perform lookbacks on projects.
- Track and manage lease operating expenses.
- Collaborate and communicate with asset team and JV partners.
- Build analytical models.
- Utilize production data to generate reports on production performance, trends, and issues. Present findings to cross functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational best practices.
- Provide guidance and assistance to junior engineers, sharing expertise and contributing to their professional growth.
- Stay up to date on existing and emerging technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of production engineering and operations.
- Working knowledge of geology and petrophysics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to improve performance.

- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, chemical or mechanical engineering is required.
- Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Position is located in the Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin and is based out of the Fort Worth, Texas office.
- Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment.
- May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise level while sharing office space with others.
- Hybrid of indoor & outdoor working environments, depending on assignment.
- Requires ability to perform repetitive motions, operate standard office equipment, potentially stand for long periods of time, and engage in frequent pending, stopping, pushing, and lifting items more than 20lbs.
- Some travel up to 20% may be required.
