What You’ll Do

•

Design cooling tower systems and components using 3D CAD, primarily in sheet metal, dimensional lumber, and pultruded FRP.

•

Collaborate with project managers, sales, purchasing, and fabrication teams to deliver safe, efficient, and on-budget solutions.

•

Create detailed drawings for fabrication, assembly, and installation—used by internal teams, contractors, and customers.

•

Support fabrication and field crews by troubleshooting issues and providing practical design solutions.

•

Occasionally assist in fabrication, assembly, or shipping as needed.

•

Help modernize our engineering processes—automation, controls, and smarter workflows are welcome.

Required:

•

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.

•

Strong 3D CAD skills (Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, etc.).

•

Ability to juggle multiple projects while staying responsive to changing field conditions.

Preferred:

•

Experience with Autodesk Inventor.

•

Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication (laser cutting, press brakes, welding).

•

Familiarity with wood and FRP component design.

•

Basic programming experience (VBA, VB.Net, or iLogic).

•

Process-minded: eager to improve how things are done, not just what gets done.

Work Environment

•

Mostly office-based with time in the adjacent fabrication shop.

•

Occasional field visits (some may require overnight travel).

•

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
