Job Summary:
The Production Control Manager (PCM) will manage the production control department in all aspects of planning.
The PCM will lead the team in planning, organizing, and maintaining the Shop Floor Schedule (SFS). The SFS is a planned production assembly schedule, in weekly capacity-constrained sections, that is derived from the Master Production Schedule (MPS). The goals for the PCM are production efficiency, velocity, and on-time completion of Shop Operations and Shop Orders to Original Customer Promise (OCP). The PCM will work with the Director of Production Control and the PPM team to maintain the MPS. They will work with that team to ensure plant loading that results in the SFS neither under (passing up capacity) or overloads available capacity (causing late deliveries to OCP). The PCM also, works together with Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and Material Analysts to ensure plant loading from the SFS takes into consideration material availability.
The PCM will also identify, analyze, and implement process improvement efforts within the broad framework of manufacturing operations, utilizing established process improvement disciplines and practices. The PCM will work collaboratively across all departments of the organization to help improve the performance of the manufacturing team.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering or a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
•2 years of fulltime work experience leading a planning team or managerial experience
•Experience leading a team or managing others
•2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
•Strong computer software skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
•Experienced user in advanced ERP system such as SAP, Oracle or similar - IFS is a plus. Significant experience pulling and analyzing data from ERP systems
•Expert in Excel-based data analysis preferred
•Coordinate and prioritize efforts and requests from other business units, including Production, Assembly, Procurement, Inventory, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Field Service, and Commissioning
•Assist with departmental strategic planning
•Collaborate with management to develop short and long-term continuous improvement milestones. Track and manage these efforts on an ongoing basis
•Provide guidance, mentorship, and career planning goals for individuals to establish an effective and cooperative team environment
•Strong interpersonal capabilities and ability to work cross-functionally with other leaders on issues
•KPI and Metrics reporting
•Inter departmental communication and collaboration - Supervisory experience is desired

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•Supervisory responsibilities
•Shop Floor Schedule (SFS) - Drive high accuracy into the SFS for a rolling 4-week period, to ensure plant capacity is effectively utilized to meet aggressive business growth goals.
•Original Customer Promise (OCP) – Lead the team in maintaining the Shop Floor Schedule (SFS), with the goal of achieving 90%+ on-time shipment to OCP.
•Workflow - Monitor workflow and plant production areas to ensure on time delivery while reducing downtime, changeovers and hours worked.
•Shortages – Work with the team on reducing shortages on the shop orders. Also communicate the impact of these shortages.
•Development - Lead the development of the department. This will include, but not limited to overall training, problem solving skills and cross training the team members.
•Communication - Proactive communication in the event of under or overload situations to enable adjustments in shop operation/order schedules to ensure on-time performance is maintained for business-critical projects.
•Training - Develop SOP’s and deliver training on key engineering tools and processes. Train and guide resources in process improvement techniques. Develop cross training plan for team members.
•Support on-time Shipment Goals - Drive resolution of issues that negatively affect the on-time shipment of products.
•Team Leadership / Management - Coordinate with various teams to analyze project results and performance. Identify and manage resources to deliver effective solutions. Ensure that the team works in accordance with the approved company operating policies, procedures, practices, and methods. Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives.
•Cross-Functional Leadership - Achieve buy-in from all decision makers for the successful application of new processes, procedures, and performance metrics / KPI’s. Coordinate communication activities and market the process and results by publicizing goals, plans, progress, and results. Develop full suite of KPI’s in IFS.
•KPI’s / Continuous Improvement - Develop KPI’s for critical support processes, ensure Visibility in IFS, and drive continuous improvement broadly across manufacturing operations. Initiate process analysis and lead new process development, process improvements, and reengineering efforts to improve efficiency, lower costs and improve product quality.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
•Limited local travel will be required (Less than 10%)

•Must be able to tolerate a full day of computer screen viewing
•Professional office environment
•Some walking will be required to browse projects on the shop floor
