The Role
PETRONAS Canada has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and technically strong Production Accountant to join our team in Calgary on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Team Lead, Production Accounting and Joint Venture, the successful incumbent will possess 3-5 years of experience concentrated within a production accounting role. This role requires consistent demonstration of accuracy, and attention to detail. The incumbent should also exemplify strong interpersonal skills in managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
How You Will Contribute•Handle monthly production and revenue accounting functions for both operated and non-operated properties
•Set up and maintain properties, master data, and configurations in Metrix
•Review and process third-party billing, ensuring incoming charges from partners are accurate and align with contractual terms
•Reconcile accounts receivable related to production and revenue on a monthly basis
•Interpret schematic flow diagrams and contractual agreements to ensure accurate setup and reporting
•Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Land, Marketing, field personnel, and regulatory bodies
•Collect, validate, and analyze data to support internal stakeholders and meet regulatory reporting deadlines
•Participate in special projects, process improvements, or data initiatives as assigned
What You Bring
•3-5 years of experience in production and revenue accounting
•Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
•Knowledge of Metrix, PETRINEX, GeoScout, CS Explorer, PVR, SAP, OpenInvoice, Power BI are assets
•Proven ability to dig into complex data sets, interpret trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable reports
•Eagerness to take ownership of new tasks and adapt to changing priorities
•A continuous improvement approach, with interest in automating or streamlining existing processes
•Self-starter with strong organizational skills that is able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
