Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management, the role of the Procurement Coordinator is to provide comprehensive end-to-end execution of the procurement life cycle, specifically in the areas of sourcing, negotiating, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Being cost-conscious and service-oriented, the Procurement Coordinator works with organizational leaders to understand business needs to ensure we achieve supply chain goals in a timely manner. This role is based in Saskatoon, SK.
You are detail-oriented and organized with proven success in ensuring that materials, services and supplies are purchased at the best possible price while meeting the required specifications. Additional qualifications and attributes include:
- Post secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or a related field is required, and procurement or supply chain certification is an asset.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems and office productivity software, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
- Demonstrated success in negotiation and contracting activities accompanied by positive supplier relations
- Highly skilled in cost analysis and cost management strategies to effectively support key business objectives and requirements.
- Proven ability to solve problems effectively and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate, negotiate and influence others
- Support the procurement strategies, policies, processes and practices that support Denison’s organizational strategy and optimize operational performance.
- Manage day-to-day procurement and supply chain activities, including tracking orders, confirming lead times, monitoring delivery dates, and engaging in timely and collaborative communications with suppliers and supply chain partners and Denison’s internal teams.
- Manage the RFQ and RFP processes end-to-end, preparing tender documents, manage purchase requisitions, and review and prepare procurement contracts.
- Review, interpret, and evaluate contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and commercial terms.
- Source and purchase materials, equipment, parts, and services required for mining construction, operations, exploration, and site support).
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure purchases meet technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics for timely delivery, monitor lead times and anticipate supply shortages.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers and contractors.
- Maintain a supplier database that contributes to efficient procurement activities and aligns to our social governance commitments.
- Actively participate in or leading supplier evaluation activities to enhance and leverage existing partnerships performance and to develop new supplier opportunities.
- Proactively engage in supplier relationship management and drive pricing negotiations with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and delivery schedules are achieved and ensuring supply chain partners align to Denison’s expectations relating to safety and social governance.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to understand material and service requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as may be required.
