The manufacturing process engineer is involved in planning and writing processes for efficient and repeatable production of all new and existing products. This candidate works within the parameters of Pre-Tech’s manufacturing process work instructions, equipment, personnel, and software.
· Plan routings for bid and proposal on new parts as well as existing parts
· Send and maintain request for quotes (RFQs) to vendors of outside services to support customer quotes
· Update legacy routings, inspection reports, and methods to meet new machining practices and convey changes and requirements to all team members
· Create inspection criteria based on volume using in-process sheets, SPC charts, Bluetooth collection software and tools
· Special projects that may include 3D modeling and printing, software support and training, tool organization, and any other project that may help to automate, organize, and help shop-wide
· Support floor staff and inspection with data collection, writing of Bluetooth programs, macros, and automation of inspection reports
· Process customer engineering change orders (ECOs) and follow the ECO process to see that routing, inspection reports, programs, and products meet customer needs and parts are used or disposed of properly
· Attend MRB meetings to review and disposition non-conforming product
· Update, maintain, and print databases when applicable
· Participate and lead both formal and informal continuous improvement events / ideas
· Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
· Knowledge of CAD / CAM and other technical applications
· Ability to adapt to various objectives and execute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent education / work experience
