Position Specific Description

This position is part of the

Cyber Intelligence and Government Affairs (CIGA)

team, a key functional group within the

Cybersecurity

organization under the

Information Technology Division

. Cybersecurity is charged with safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company information and computing networks by proactively identifying, collecting, and managing comprehensive threat intelligence.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to serve as the

Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst

or

IT Technical Lead – Cyber Intel

. This is an exciting opportunity for a cybersecurity expert who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about protecting critical infrastructure and digital assets.

In this role, you will support NextEra’s cybersecurity program by working with a high-performing team, a rapidly growing business, and cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies. You will lead efforts to gather and analyze timely, high-priority intelligence, and provide strategic guidance to mitigate cyber risks across NextEra Energy and its subsidiaries. You will also recommend process and technology enhancements to strengthen the company’s cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of strategic goals for the intelligence team and enhance the intelligence collection strategy
Define and refine Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs) and Critical Intelligence Requirements (CIRs)
Lead threat intelligence collection efforts and guide analytical processes
Develop and maintain actionable intelligence reports and assessments
Identify, prioritize, and help mitigate potential security threats
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Support the development of enterprise-wide security strategies and response plans
Provide expert analysis and recommendations during potential security incidents
Process, document, and manage intelligence from diverse data sources and platforms
Maintain an organized repository of technical indicators, intelligence reports, briefings, and threat feeds


Preferred Qualifications:

Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and executive audiences
Demonstrated success in cyber intelligence or counter-intelligence roles, with a clear understanding of business risk implications
Solid understanding of key security controls and their role in risk assessment
Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate strong initiative and leadership
Knowledge of computer networking technologies and architectures
Willingness to travel up to 10%, work extended hours as needed, and maintain eligibility for security clearances
Availability for on-call duties 24/7 as required
Position location is flexible and will be determined based on candidate qualifications

Job Overview

This position establishes strategy, develops business plans, and oversees and leads in the design, development and implementation of technology solutions to meet business needs. Leaders in this role provide leadership and oversight to manage performance and results in one or more Information Technology (IT) disciplines. Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Provides leadership, influence, vision, and direction to the organization to contribute to achieving the company's goals
Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy
Oversees value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs
Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation
Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments
Oversees development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)
Attracts, develops and retains a high-performing and diverse team
Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs
Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives
Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies
Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

High School Grad / GED
Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 7+ years


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree
Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
