This position will report to the Value Stream Manager for Production Engine Test Operations (Green Run) at the Kearny Mesa facility.

The job duties for this role include:

- Coordinate and conduct production engine tests to validate the performance of production turbines.

- Leverage engineering problem solving methods and lean tools to determine the root cause for test cell interruptions, and to implement processes to prevent recurrence.

- Troubleshoot test cell and engine operation issues and analyze and approve test data.

- Provide high quality test results and holistic engine operation perspective to ensure adherence to company’s engineering specifications.

- Create a certified test report for customers for all assigned engine tests

- Maintain test cell in operational readiness by ensuring the right equipment and software is installed to support engineering specifications and customer requirements.

- Maintain all facility control hardware and software up to the current production revision

- Acts as the first point of contact when complicated control system troubleshooting is required

- Develop and maintain effective and frequent inter-organizational communication with personnel from all Engineering groups

- Maintain hydraulic/mechanical and electrical facility system drawings in all production test cells

Minimum Qualifications:

- Minimum 7+ years of Industry experience

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical experience

- Extensive knowledge of turbomachinery equipment and its operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Degree in Engineering

- Experience with troubleshooting skills

- Excellent cross-functional communication abilities

- High attention to detail

- Expertise in time management

- In-depth knowledge of turbines

- Field experience

Summary Pay Range:

$120,299.00 - $180,449.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
